Touring France & Spain: March 2009
On a cold, snowy January day in Los Angeles we found a great deal to fly to Paris and back on Air France. We called our friends, Nestor and Susie Melo and asked them if they were up to a trip. As you can see below, they said, "Yes."
We picked up a cute little Peugeot Tepee that we leased through AutoFrance and drove into Paris where we stayed for three days. From Paris we headed south to the Loire Valley and then down to the Dordognne Valley. Our next stop was San Sebastían, Spain for two days. Driving west on the northern coast of Spain we saw Santillana del Mar, a little scenic village locked in time. Continuing down the road we spent the night in San Vincente de la Barquera. Next: the magnificent cities of Segovia, Tolédo, and Madrid.
After three days in Madrid we headed back to France with stops in the medival city of Carcassonne, the village of St. Cirq Lapopie, Sarlat, Fountainebleu, and then back to Paris.
We hope you enjoy these pictures.

AutoFrance: If you're going to spend at least three weeks in Europe and you need a car, this is absolutely the best way to do it! The procedure is straight-forward; the service is great; and, the prices were the best I found. You can reach them at +1-800-572-9655 or AutoFrance.net.
